Sauer 3-stage air-cooled Compressor on Tour through China

On 15 June, the Sauer Container Show arrived in Dalian, the first step of our long trip along China's east coast.

Image 2: Sauer Asia service engineer Mr. Gary Gu gives a very detailed demonstration to the design team at Wuzhou shipyard.

After customs clearance and installation on the truck, our next task was to install the Gen-set power supply.

Final checks were made on the night of the 18th.

We were then ready; the China Container Show Tour could begin.

As part of this long trip, our first stop was the DSIC shipyard in Dalian, one of our major Chinese customers.

65 people from the design, production and procurement departments attended the container show.

After Dalian, the next stop was Beihai shipyard in Qingdao, then on to Nantong where we visited Cosco Nantong and Hantong shipyards.

This was followed by Shanghai, where we demonstrated the compressors at Jiangnan, Waigaoqiao and Hudong shipyards. We then travelled to Zoushan, visiting Yangfan and Wuzhou shipyards.

Our next port of call was Guangzhou, where we visited Guangzhou shipyard before travelling to our final destination, Hong Kong.

This last stop gave us the opportunity to visit many ship owners, such as China Shipping, Fleet Management, OOCL, AMCL, Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping, CSHT, Wah Kong Ship Management, Pacific Basin, Sinotrans, and finally, Hoi Tung Hong Kong where it was our pleasure to meet most of the staff.

It was an honour for us to welcome Mr T.Y. Jiao who attended the Sauer presentation organised by our Managing Director Mr. Harald Schulz.

The general container tour was a real success, with roughly 25 to 30 people visiting our container show at each stop.

The tour gave Sauer the opportunity to present the general advantages of its air-cooled compressor range.

What could be better than testing an air-cooled compressor under real-life conditions?

In our container show we were able to replicate the conditions under which the compressors operate on board the ship.

Everyone who visited the show could measure the temperature of each component, check the filling rate of the receiver and examine the capacity of the Sauer compressor.

In some cases, people wanted to check how the compressor would react in extreme situations, such as high temperatures. This was easy to demonstrate; we simply switched on the heater system and started the compressor.

During the test we also had the opportunity of checking all the safety devices in real time.

We would like to thank everyone at Hoi Tung, particularly all the agency managers who arranged the appointments with the shipyards and the ship owners.
